Creating garden landscapes that improve human wellbeing and support local biodiversity.
Our mission is to make inviting and peaceful spaces for people and wildlife. Nature is essential to our lives and we are part of nature.
Based on the communal knowledge and experiences gained through creating the Town Hall Compost Wildlife Garden, we have developed a philosophy and techniques to share our sustainable gardening approach with the community.
Join us in restoring connections to nature and creating a genuinely sustainable environment in Kensington and surrounding suburbs.
We source local, environmentally sustainable, and salvaged materials whenever possible, and select plants that are suited to each garden’s soil and climatic conditions.
Through the creation of habitat gardens, we improve wildlife habitat and ecological connectivity within the neighbourhood. We source plants that are adapted to local conditions from indigenous nurseries, supporting conservation of the genetic diversity of indigenous flora. We also propagate plants from seeds and cuttings from Kensington Town Hall Compost’s wildlife and food gardens.
We establish edible gardens and food forests to grow a variety of herbs, fruit and vegetables suited to local conditions. Our food gardens benefit from our habitat gardens, which provide resources for pollinators and other ecosystem service providers, assisting with continued production of quality harvests using natural ecological processes without harmful chemicals.

We would love to share our knowledge and experience, and can offer commercial design and implementation services which support our mission. Please get in contact to request a free consultation or to source a quote: KensingtonCompostHub@gmail.com
