The Town Hall Compost Hub behind Kensington Town Hall is open for public access and managed by Kensington Town Hall Compost Incorporated (KTHCI).

Our association supports community composting and growing onsite as well as across an expanding network of community compost sites in Kensington and surrounding suburbs.

The purposes of the Kensington Town Hall Compost Incorporated association are:

“To produce compost locally,
for the community and by the community.”

We operate the Town Hall Compost Hub as:
  • an open community space where residents and local small businesses can compost their kitchen waste
  • a key project forming part of Kensington’s transition to a sustainable resilient suburb
  • an active space that encourages social inclusion, cohesion and improved health and wellbeing outcomes
  • a shared space where people can safely learn and improve compost production skills
  • a space to exchange ideas and information, and support community activities
  • an environment that is enjoyable and friendly for people of all abilities and backgrounds
